Personal Overdraft Privilege
As a Citizens Financial Bank customer, you may be eligible for Overdraft Privilege. Rather than returning non-sufficient items as unpaid, we will consider payment of your reasonable overdrafts as long as your account remains in good standing.
It has happened to most of us at one time or another; a mistake in our check register, forgetting to record a check or electronic transactions, or miscalculating when a deposit will clear. No one wants to overdraw their checking account but it does happen. Rather than returning all overdraft items as unpaid, Citizens will consider payment of your reasonable overdrafts up to your assigned Overdraft Privilege limit. An overdraft item includes overdrafts created by check, an in-person withdrawal, an ATM withdrawal, or other electronic means.
Features
- Payment of overdrafts normally covered up to $700 ($400 on free checking accounts).
- Fewer charges from retailers for returned checks; less frustration and embarrassment.
- No action on your part or additional paperwork.
- The normal and customary overdraft fees will apply
- No additional fees unless you use the service.
- You are notified by mail of any NSF/OD items paid.
Eligibility Requirements
- The account is primarily used for personal and household purposes.
- The account has been open at least 30 days and thereafter you maintain your account in good standing.
- You deposit at least $300 into your account within each 30 day period.
- You are not in default on any loan obligation to the bank.
- The account must be positive (not overdrawn) at least once every 20 days.
- The account is not the subject of any legal or administrative levy.
Fees/Repayment
- For each overdraft you will be charged $32.50.
- If the account remains negative, a daily fee of $6.00 will be assessed on the 4th day.

Any one of the following items may cause an overdraft on your checking account; a mistake in your check register, an unrecorded check, an electronic transaction or withdrawal, et cetera. Rather than returning overdraft items, Citizens will transfer available funds from the designated deposit account to your overdrawn checking account.
Features
- Transfer of funds from a deposit account to your overdrawn checking account.
- Funds must be available in the designated deposit account for transfer to the checking account.
- Fewer charges from retailers for returned checks.
- Less frustration and embarrassment.
- An Overdraft Protection authorization must be signed.

Automatic Transfers / Pre-Authorized Transfers
No more running to the bank to transfer funds! Set-up a pre-authorized payment or transfer for all your financial needs. An automatic transfer of funds can be set up to come out of a Citizens checking or savings account and go to another Citizens account or loan.
Benefits
- Can be setup to make periodic payments from a Citizens checking, savings or money market account.
- Make your Citizens mortgage payment, fund an IRA with periodic deposits, pay annual safe deposit box rental fees, or set up transfers of funds from a checking account to a money market or savings account as an automatic savings program.
- It’s easy! You can set it up once and it will transfer the funds automatically as long as the funds are available in the funding account.
- Make timely payments on the day you want the payment made, without writing checks or making trips to the Bank or Post Office.
Stop by any Citizens Financial Bank location to setup your payment schedule and sign the authorization.
You can also use Online Banking to setup a recurring transfer between your Citizens accounts. Simply log on to Online Banking and select the checking or savings account from which you would like to transfer funds. Using the Transfer menu, you will then be able to perform an express (one-time) transfer or setup a recurring transfer.
