CITIZENS FINANCIAL BANK PRESENTED A CERTIFICATE OF APPRECIATION BY THE JEWISH FEDERATION OF NORTHWEST INDIANA
MUNSTER, IN – May 10, 2010 - Citizens Financial Bank was presented with a Certificate of Appreciation from the Jewish Federation of Northwest Indiana on May 7, 2010. The certificate was given for their participation in the food drive for the Manna Cabana Food Pantry which supplies non-perishable food items to all the needy in Northwest Indiana.

Present from the Federation were Dr. Gus Galante, President, Mickey Sparber, 1 st Vice President, Michael Steinberg, Executive Director, and Carol Szaks, Director of Jewish Community Services. Dr. Gus Galante presented the award. He said, “We at the Jewish Federation are both happy and honored to be able to partner with Citizens Financial Bank, an important business in the area, so we can help the needy in Northwest Indiana.” Mr. Mickey Sparber added, “The Certificate was given in recognition of their support to enhance the quality of life in Northwest Indiana through the Jewish Community Services in particular, the Manna Cabana Food Pantry of the Jewish Federation.”
Thomas Prisby, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Citizens Financial Bank said, “We are honored and proud to accept this Certificate of Appreciation. Manna Cabana is an extremely worthwhile program that exists throughout the year. They are located at 585 Progress Ave. in Munster and accept food and donations Monday – Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Friday from 8:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. They provide food for our friends and neighbors in need. Your assistance is always welcomed.”
He adds, “Citizens has been serving families and businesses in northwest Indiana for more than 75 years. Our commitment to the growth and economic well being of the region goes beyond the financial services we provide and exemplifies our dedication to Personal, personal banking.”
The Jewish Federation of Northwest Indiana has been helping to enrich Jewish life and assist those facing hardship here at home and around the world since 1940. The Federation not only supplies non-perishable food items, but the money they collect buys cards so the needy can buy perishable items such as meat, produce milk etc. They also assist in paying rent, utilities, medication and at times funeral expenses. Last year they distributed more than 500 large bags of non-perishable food items throughout the Community.
